GunMarks Overlay by PeBHocmb
Pobrania:1
Ocena: 0.0
An external overlay for World of Tanks Blitz (Windows) with two features:
- Gun marks. During a battle it shows how much more damage you need to deal so that the gun mark percentage does not drop. After the battle it shows the exact result.
- Session statistics in the hangar. Battles, win rate, average damage, assist, blocked damage, credits and free XP for the session.
How the mod works
The mod does not inject into the game and does not read its memory. It only reads files that the client itself writes to disk: the recording of the current battle and the results of previous battles.
Nothing is sent to the internet. All data stays on your computer in %APPDATA%\GunMarkOverlay.
Installation
- Unpack the program to any folder and run it. An icon will appear in the tray.
- For session statistics in the hangar: in the tray icon menu choose “Install widget in hangar” and restart the game. The program finds the game folder (Steam) by itself. Before making changes it saves a backup of the original file next to it (Hangar.yaml.dvpl.session.bak).
- To remove the widget: “Remove widget from hangar” in the same menu. You can also roll back with “Verify integrity of game files” in Steam.
- After installing and launching, make sure replays are enabled (at least 10), otherwise neither of the two mods will work.
Gun marks
What is shown by default
The main number: how much more damage you need to deal so that the gun mark percentage does not drop (the progress bar shows the same thing). The percentage is not shown by default so that you do not rely on an approximate number.
The approximate percentage (forecast and “likely”, with a plus or minus relative to the current value) is enabled by a separate item in the menu.
After the battle (while the post-battle statistics are loading) the overlay shows the exact result from the battle results file.
Accuracy
- The main estimate (“so as not to drop”) is intentionally made with a margin: it is better to show “slightly more damage needed” than to give false confidence.
- “Likely” is closer to reality, but can be wrong in either direction.
- The more of your own battles on a given tank, the more accurate it is. On a new tank the first battles are less accurate. This is normal.
- This is an estimate, not a guarantee. The exact value comes only after the battle (while the post-battle statistics are loading).
Tanks with a low percentage
If a tank’s gun mark is below roughly 75 %, do not rely much on the approximate percentage. At low percentages the deviation of the forecast from the real result can be large, and the margin estimate itself is less accurate. In such cases look at the “damage needed” number and the exact result after the battle, not at the percentage in the overlay.
What is not taken into account
Damage to unspotted enemies, base/point capture in Superiority mode.
Because of this, in battles with capture the real result is usually better than the mod showed. This is the safe side of the error.
Platoon
In a platoon gun marks do not count. The mod detects a platoon and, instead of a calculation, shows the message “platoon: gun marks don’t count”.
Tips
- Play regular random battles. The mod does not count ranked and other modes.
- Let the mod collect 5–10 of your battles on each new tank before trusting the number too much.
- Go by the main number (“damage needed”). If you have dealt it, the percentage will almost certainly not drop.
- The approximate percentage is useful for planning, but it is a forecast.
- On tanks below ~75 % do not trust the approximate percentage: the spread is larger there.
- Do not delete the %APPDATA%\GunMarkOverlay folder: it holds the accumulated statistics that make the mod more accurate.
Session statistics in the hangar
Counted for the session:
- number of battles, win rate;
- average damage, average assist, blocked damage;
- credits and free XP.
Notes:
- Only random battles are counted (ranked ones will be added later).
- Credits and free XP are taken from the live balance in the hangar, not from the battle file, because the file does not contain repair and consumable costs. Only the balance change right after a battle is added to the session; manual purchases and sales in the hangar are not counted.
- The session is kept between launches. It can be reset with the button in the widget.
- The widget collapses on click.
- The mod must be running. If you close the program, nothing will be shown in place of the widget in the hangar.
- After a game update the client may restore the original hangar file and the widget will disappear. Please install the widget again after that; the session is kept if it existed before the update. The same happens after “Verify integrity of game files” in Steam.
- If other mods also modify the hangar file, the installation will stop and change nothing.
- If the screen is small (for example, a laptop) and the widget overlaps the equipment, move it up: tray icon menu → “Hangar widget position” → “Up”, then restart the game or play a battle. The position is remembered.
Settings (tray icon menu)
- Language (en / uk / ru).
- Window size: 75–200 %. By default it is chosen according to the screen resolution.
- Text color and outline, background, position (the window can be dragged).
- Showing the approximate percentage and compact mode (a single indicator).
- Installing and removing the widget in the hangar.
- Hangar widget position (up / down / left / right).
Settings files are located in %APPDATA%\GunMarkOverlay. If something goes wrong, check log.txt in the same folder.
FAQ
- Antivirus complains. The program reads files and shows a window over the game, and such behavior sometimes causes false positives.
- The percentage after the battle did not match the forecast. This is expected: the forecast is approximate. The mod takes the exact value from the battle results.
- The percentage shows strange values (for example -60%). Your replay results folder is empty; the problem will go away after 1–2 battles.
Requirements: .NET 8 Desktop Runtime - Please install it from Microsoft Website
